LETTER TO MY FELLOW COMPATRIOTS – PROF T. UZODINMA NWALA

PRESIDENT
ALAIGBO DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION (ADF)

LETTER TO MY FELLOW COMPATRIOTS!

Dear Beloved People, Umuigbo!

OVERCOMING OUR PRESENT PREDICAMENT IN THE WORLD!

Recently I have had several occasions to exchange views with some of our well-meaning brothers and sisters. Many of them have sought to know the position of the Alaigbo Development Foundation (ADF) on the present critical state of our struggle for survival and liberation in the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Some of them are desirous for this information in view of the raging crises of insecurity and hunger in our land and because of what ADF has come to symbolize in our struggle.

Those of our brothers who are very active in the global campaign to expose the duplicity of the current regime in Nigeria, a regime that is complicit in the on-going Fulani Jihadist campaign of annihilation to wipe out the indigenous peoples of Nigeria and taking over their land; these brother are wondering why ADF appears to be missing in action at the global level.

Among these brothers and sisters, some of them are aware of the AKURUO ULO MOVEMENT (ACM) which ADF has birthed at home and is vigorously championing along with some well-meaning individuals and organizations at home. Yet they do not seem to accept that the ACM deserves the emphasis which ADF is ascribing to it.

They are asking, for example, how can we be talking of food production and security while the enemy is attacking our farms and killing our people, destroying the crops in our farms, raping our women and daughters, slaughtering them along with their husbands and fathers; how can we talk of food security when the Nigerian soldiers, security and police are harassing and killing our youths for daring to challenge them.

According to them, our primary attention should be exposing the grave insecurity in Alaigbo and her neighbors. Particularly, they insist we should focus on Relaying our current predicament to the world’. Thus, international campaign, they insist, is the major task of the struggle now, and everybody bothy at home and in the Diaspora should exclusively focus on it

What is my answer to this viewpoint?

Fellow compatriots, I am not a magician in terms of regarding my perspective and approach to how best, in strategic terms, to address our present predicament. But I have always tried to honestly and passionately apply the little gift of experience and knowledge I have in proffering what needs to be done at each moment of our struggle.

1. First of all let us understand the challenges facing us right now. What are they?
I Submit:
i. The enemy’s Conquest Agenda that is already being ferociously pursued.
ii. The Raging Anarchy particularly in our Motherland.
iii. The Raging State of Hunger in the land.
iiii. The disarray within our nation, etc, etc.
v. The cultural crises among Igbo Youth – exhibited to such an alarming state that both the school and education, not to talk of the family, are utterly helpless.
Yes, these are the primary challenges facing our nation today.
2. The fundamental question is What is to be Done In view of all these?
Permit me to say that surely there are two identifiable fronts from which these challenges are being seemingly addressed, namely;
I. The Home Front and
II. The Diaspora Front
Among these two friongts, there is no doubt that even though they are complementary and therefore need to have synergized strategies, THE HOME FRONT is indeed the more Critical and Decisive in contending with the Enemy and these challenges. I may be wrong –

3a THE HOME FRONT.
i. This is the Front that is in direct Physical confrontation with the Conquest Agenda, the Raging State of Anarchy, State of Igbo National Disintegration, Food Security, Youth Disorientation and unemployment etc. It is the front from which to directly confront the enemy.
ii. The basic question at this point is – With what instruments and resources do we confront the enemy? And how are they to be mobilized?
Surely the Needed Instruments and Resources are to be mobilized from within both the HOME and the DIASPORA FRONTS.

iii. What are the required resources?

4. FUNDS and MATERIALS.

iiii. What are the needed materials? Instruments of physical engagement, and information and Intelligence gathering as well as organized forms of human physical resistance?
v. Instruments of information – Radio, Television, Newspaper, Internet and Oral communication. These can be sourced from Home-base as well as Diaspora-base.
vi. Organization of internal alliances and all necessary maneuvers to confront and defeat the enemy.
The most important point to note here is the enormous responsibility placed on the shoulders of the HOME FRONT. This is the Front the Enemy is struggling to overrun, conquer and take over. Therefore, it has to be managed by patriotic, lion-hearted, and tested forces on the ground.

5.ii THE DIASPORA FRONT.

The major responsibilities of the DIASPORA FRONT include –

a. To relay our AGONIES AND SUFFERINGS in the hands of the Fulani Jihadists as well as the relentless and mind-bugling complicity of THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT OF NIGERIA to the International Community and gain first their moral support.
b. To secure International Diplomatic support.
c. To secure their overt and covert military support if need be.
d. To use all possible strategic measures to secure friends abroad for our cause.
e. To provide funds and relief in aid and support to the home front.

6. THE OVERRIDING IMPORTANCE OF SYNERGY!
i. Synergy among the patriotic forces in the Home Front.
ii. Synergy among the Patriotic forces in the Diaspora Front.
iii. Synergy among the Home Front and the Diaspora Front.

Dear Compatriots,
What is needed very urgently is clarity on these questions, particularly clarity as to who does what and how to coordinate all forces available to us.
At the moment and tragically, no such coordination exists! But who is to blame?

The blame is on all of us. It is not only on the politicians or the agents of the enemy alone. Yes, these are the frontline enemies of our struggle. However, Social Media and some pretentious elements befog our rational communications. In Social Media, everybody is an authority and to hell with those so-called intellectuals even when they are innocent and concerned fellow compatriots.

7. NOW HEAR ME, FELLOW COMPATRIOTS!
i. Anyone who tells you he can drive the Home Front from Abroad is A DANGEROUS DEMAGOGUE!
ii. Anyone who tells you he can drive the Diaspora Front from Home is equally A DANGEROUS DEMAGOGUE!.
iii. Similarly, Anyone who tells you that there are no PATRIOTIC, EXPERIENCED AND CAPABLE ELDERS AND STATESMEN Within the HOME FRONT IS DOUBLY A DANGEROUS DEMAGOUE! Indeed, he is an enemy of the Igbo Liberation struggle!
iii. Finally, Anyone who tells you that it is only within the Home Front that we can find Saboteurs of our Struggle and Agents of our Enemy is telling you DANGEROUS HALF TRUTH.

8. By the Way, who are the Enemies of our people?
i. Buhari, his Fulani Kinsmen, and All Who Are Intent On Totally Annihilating Our Nation, Our Civilization And Our Faith And Taking Over Our Ancestral Land.
ii. Their Agents within, some of whom have Fulani blood, while others for selfish material interest are serving the cause of the Enemy.
iii. Demagogues from within (both at home and in the Diaspora) who for the sake of lust for power (political and material) want to drive our struggle solo or in consort with many 419-ners who abound in our clime in several disguises and who see the Igbo Predicament And Struggle As A Vendible Item.

9. The Home Front Revisited!
Dear Compatriot, it is our submission (ADF) that given our present VULNERABILITY as a result of the overwhelming strength and preponderance of the above forces against us, we must devise the best feasible strategy that can enable us to systematically defend our people, our civilization and our Ancestral Home.
Here comes the AKURUO ULO MOVEMENT, call it LAND ARMY if you like. It is designed to enable us to –
Defend Our Ancestral Home Land,
Produce Food and Feed Our People.
Protect Our People,
And Empower Our Youth, Who Are A Vital Instrument For Our Defense.

While we do all these, there should be, I Repeat, that Formidable Synergy designed between the Home Front and the Diaspora Front.

10. Furthermore, Dear Compatriots,
The importance of encouraging patriotic, dedicated, and tested forces on the ground to manage the HOME FRONT is that it is the field Commanders who know when to urge our fighters to charge when to dodge when to take cover, when to tactically seize firing or when to withdraw.

All these are tactical steps to victory against the enemy. It is only after fighting in this way and it becomes impossible to defeat the enemy, rather than allow all our forces to be completely decimated by the enemy, there is also what is known as technical but temporary or momentary surrender. Just to live to fight another day.

To this, some will say Tufia Kwa! We should rather fight like the Spartans of the Carthaginian Army!

Yes, the danger of ignorance of these time-tested lessons of warfare is for a people to tragically fight like the Carthaginians (Spartans) – whose motto was –
A Spartan Dies but never Surrenders!
And at the point of total decimation by the enemy, the last Spartan soldier to breathe his last, on sighting their national emissaries who had come to take stalk of the horrors of defeat, said to them in such agonizing voice –
Soldiers Go,
Tell The Spartans,
That In Obedience To Their Law,
Here We Lay!

Dear Compatriots, nobody celebrates defeat or cowardly surrender to the enemy as some of our brothers and sisters may want us to do. No!.
But there are definite CONTOURS of WARFARE! History including our own history has a lot to teach us on this!

This is why the Chinese military wisdom celebrates THE MOST SUCCESSFUL GENERAL as the –

The Commander Who Wins A War Without Firing A Shot!

I believe the Race defeated Napoleon Bonaparte in Haiti in 1804.
Whose Women Amazons defeated the British Colonialists in 1929, has what it takes to defeat the now highly vulnerable Fulani Jihadists!
Indeed. Ndigbo are not alone now as they were in 1967-70!

FINALLY, Umunnem, Ndigbo!

HERE COMES –
THE ADF AKURUO ULO COOPERATIVE MOVEMENT (ACM) PIONEERED BY THE ALAIGBO DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION (ADF)!

We need to appreciate what the AKURUO Ulo Movement of the Alaigbo Development Foundation (ADF) is all about.

Security is at the heart of the AKURUO ULO Cooperative Movement. ADF is urging us to DEFEND our Land by collectively organizing our youth as both Farm Workers and Farm Guards!

We can’t fight the enemy on empty stomach nor cultivate while the enemy is destroying the farms with their cattle and raping and killing our women and men.
ADF is urging everyone to leave the comfort zone of their handsets, laptops, social media and get into our Farms and Agro-allied programs. Cultivate and produce food while at the same time we collectively defend our lands and crops,

Those who make reference to the Jews should study the Jewish Kibbutz system which was both village farm settlements and barracks.
ADF is already embarking on large-scale communal farms organized on the cooperative model to produce food, secure our land as well as promote youth empowerment.

If we move along this trajectory we shall more strategically deploy the youths and move them away from crime and adventurist heroism.
In this way, we shall have an abundance for domestic consumption as well as export. We are guided by this notion of security by fundamental natural and customary laws.

Self-preservation and self-defense are fundamental RIGHTS and LAWS that supersede all civil and state laws. We, therefore, have a divine right and duty to protect ourselves and our property.

ADF has established a Pilot Farm, secured lands in several parts of Alaigbo, secured the cooperation of several stakeholders and organizations, and communities, established outlets for distribution and processing of products ACM Cooperative farms. \What is more, ADF has set up schemes to promote individual and collective farmers to go on their own with ADF Support.
Several investors are waiting are lined up to partner with the Akuruo Ulo Cooperative Movement.

Above all, ADF has set up a Management Board and also established communication channels with some State Governments and foreign investors to support the ACM.

The ACM Management Board has worked the scheme for buying of shares by investors.

ADF Press Statement On the Aborted Attempt to set up the Electoral Committee for the 2021 Ohanaeze Elections.

ADF Press Statement On the Aborted Attempt to set up the Electoral Committee for the 2021 Ohanaeze Elections.

PRESS STATEMENT

On the Aborted Attempt to set up the Electoral Committee for the 2021 Ohanaeze Elections.

On the 6th of December, a meeting was convened at the Nike Lake Resort by the outgoing Ohanaeze Executive. As it turned out, the main item on the Agenda of the meeting was the forthcoming January 2021 Election of a new Ohanaeze Executive.

Although I came a bit late to the meeting, however, I asked and throughout the duration of the meeting, there was no reference to the genocide going on in Oyigbo (Obigbo) in Rivers State where hundreds of our kits-and-kin are being gruesomely slaughtered with reckless abandon.

There was not even ‘a minute silence’ in memory of the dead as has become our custom and as observed throughout all civilized communities in the world. What echoed from the leadership was justification of the murder of those innocent victims.

With particular reference to the alleged meeting of Ime Obi Ohanaeze, it turned out that –

  • What was summoned and what met was not IME OBI Ohanaeze Ndigbo. At best, it could be called a quasi assemblage of some members of the General Assembly of Ohanaeze.
  • Senator Chris Ngige eloquently made this observation, and although his observation was widely supported, his views were ignored. Another former Governor made a related observation, but all were ignored and suppressed by the Chairman.
  • The implication of this is that NO MEETING OF IME OBI OHANAEZE has taken place with respect to setting up the machinery for the election of a new Ohanaeze Executive.
  • On the list read out by Chief Nwodo as members of his Electoral Committee, no consultations were made with the respective States and Bodies/Organizations whose so-called representatives were announced by him.
  • Most of us are familiar with the tradition of getting representatives of various States/0rganisations into any Committee of Ime Obi Ohanaeze. And what is that tradition?

“In a properly constituted Ime Obi Ohanaeze, once we get to the point of appointing, for example, the Electoral Committee, States/Organizations  are requested to stand aside to nominate their representatives and return the list to the Secretary of Ime Obi  Ohanaeze. After which the names of nominees are collated and announced”.Our experience is that such a process has always ended amicably and the various States/Organizations have always returned their nominees without any internal rancor.

  • Indeed those who try to introduce controversy into the election of the next Ohanaeze Executive are not fair to Ndigbo, especially at this time when our people are facing the worst threat to their existence as a nation.
  • We, in the Alaigbo Development Foundation (ADF), urge Chief Nnia Nwodo and his team not to plung Ndigbo into unnecessary internal rancor at this time. Any attempt to impose any person on Ndigbo in the name of Ohanaeze leadership at this period shall be stoutly resisted by our people and our Gods including our Supreme Chukwu Okike.

We, therefore, urge Chief Nwodo and his team to urgently convene a properly constituted Ime Obi Ohanaeze so that a legitimate Electoral Committee shall be set up to organize the Ohanaeze Election in January according to the Ohanaeze Constitution.

It is important to advise that the mood of Ndigbo at the present moment will not accept any attempt to impose any candidate on them. Anyone involved in such an attempt should think again as such a gamble and act of desperation and treachery shall be resisted vehemently by the people.

THE OWERRI DECLARATION 2019

THE OWERRI DECLARATION 2019

THE OWERRI DECLARATION

COMMUNIQUE OF THE
2019 IGBO NATIONAL SUMMIT
ON THE
PEACE, SECURITY AND DEVELOPMENT OF
ALAIGBO AND HER NEIGHBOURS.
Held at Villa Gardens Hotel, Owerri , Imo State, Nigeria.

The first-ever IGBO NATIONAL SUMMIT was convened today, August 22nd
2019 by key frontline Igbo organizations and major stakeholders with representatives of her Neighbors in attendance to examine the grave state of insecurity in our region, under the banner Peace, Security and Development of Alaigbo and Her Neighbors. The event was presided over by His Royal Majesty, Igwe Amb. Lawrence Agubuzu, Chairman, Enugu State Council of Traditional Rulers. He was assisted by His Lordship, Bishop Obi Udezue Onubogu, Overseer, Rock Cathedral, Enugu.

After an exhaustive of key nte addresses by the conveners as well major presentations on the state and challenges of insecurity that have gravely affected the peace and development of Alaigbo and her neighbors, the participants noted as follows –
i. That the Territory known as the Federal Republic of Nigeria was initially created by the British colonial authority mainly to advance her colonial interests.

ii. That since the amalgamation of the territory consisting of several major and smaller nationalities in 1914, the region has known no stability, but rather has witnessed incessant crises resulting in the Biafra war of 1967. That war saw the worst state of pogrom in which over 3 million people mainly Igbo citizens were brutally killed and the territory devastated. That the end of the war left Alaigbo and her neighbors in ruins with no efforts since then to rebuild the region.

iii. That the endemic instability in the Federation has been due to an inherent incompatibility of values between the dominant religions, traditions and cultures of its indigenous ethnic nationalities. But this has been made worse by the deliberate act of manipulation by the British colonial authorities who, through manipulation of the Federal structure and census, left power in the hands of the Fulani minority.
iiii. What is more, political stability is anchored on the fundamental principles of democracy, rule of law and equity. Unfortunately, the Fulani minority does not understand, let alone believe in these basic norms of co-existence among peoples. This truth has been brazenly asserted by the Fulani National Movement (FUNAM) when, in a recent statement in which they declared their resolve to fully conquer the rest of the Federation, FUNAM referred to what it called “irresponsible Western notion of democracy”, which it said the British imposed in Nigeria in order to undermine their territorial ambition.

v. The participants noted that the Federal Republic of Nigeria as it exists today is a phantom political state which has lost all the basic principles of rule of law, justice, equity and humane values; anarchy now prevails in all spheres of the society.

vi. The Republic has been seized by one ethnic nationality, namely, the minority Fulani who do not hide their intentions to wipe out the indigenous populations and their religions and turn the territory into an Islamic State.as has been arrogantly stated by the Fulani Nationality Movement (FUNAM). Following the mass killings of the helpless citizens of Plateau by the Fulani, where some non-Fulani civilians according to FUNAM ‘were justifiable hacked down’. In their statement following this gruesome massacre, FUNAM declared: –

We have said it over and over, that Nigeria is the only inheritance we have in Africa and anywhere in the world. This land belongs to us, from Sokoto to the banks of the Atlantic Ocean. This was the destiny bestowed on Uthman Dan Fodio which would have been fulfilled since 1816 if not for the obstruction of this great assignment by the British. It is no longer time to play the ostrich. Our men are waiting. We are eager to fight. We are boiling with the zeal to actualize our dream; enough of double dealing and ambivalence by FULANI political leaders who unfortunately think the FULANI can only take back what belongs to us through appeasement and elections destined to reflect cultural values antithetical to the preaching of Uthman Dan Fodio.

vii. Indeed, this declaration is no longer a statement of intentions. The Fulani have fully embarked on their fulfillment. In pursuit of this goal, they have systematically, under their leader General Mohammadu Buhari, seized all the apparatuses of the state – the Executive, the Legislative, the Judiciary, the Military and all the Security Forces, the Bureaucracy, the Economy, all machinery of Government including the so-called Independent Electoral Commission, (INEC), the Educational Institutions, all parastatals of the state.

viii. The participants noted that as of today, the following is the composition of the key Executive, Legislative. Judiciary, Administrative and Security organs of the Federal Republic of Nigeria:-

• President of the Federal Republic …North
• Senate President …North
• Chief Justice of Nigeria…..…North
• President Court of Appeal …North

• Chairman INEC ……North

• DG/CEO Nat’l Identity ……North, etc, etc.
All these Officials are not only Northerners, but 95% Fulani Muslims.

ixThe participants recalled the catalogue of pogroms and genocide serially inflicted on Ndigbo and the Peoples of Eastern Nigeria which have long threatened our collective survival and existential reality as a People in their economic sojourn across the Country and their violent displacement from their places of abode denying them a sense of belonging in the polity in the face of Government acquiescence and non-payment of compensation as outlined below, the consequent decimation of our growth as a People and our Youth and future generations and our treatment as a conquered People by successive Governments:

ix. Given the daunting and unabated militarization of our Homeland by extortionist Police and Military Agents of State, the senseless and conscienceless killing of our Clergy, the condescending sacking of our Churches, Villages and Rural Communities, the routine rape of our Women, Mothers Wives and Daughters, the willful destruction of farmlands and humiliating desecration of our sacred Traditional Grooves, Shrines and Deities by ravaging Terrorist Fulani Headsmen, the immolate destruction of our lives and property, and the wanton implementation of the obnoxious RUGA policy despite widespread Citizen resistance,.
In the light of the above, the participants resolved as follows:-
i. Against this background of worrisome escalating insecurity, fear and horror in our Homeland, threats to our continued existence as a people more so in the face of mounting pressure of occupation by alien terrorist Muslim Fulani Herdsmen, we hereby declare that our people are no longer willing to live a life of meaningless existence in the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

ii. And, therefore, we urge for a renegotiation of the basis of our co-existence with our Neighbors. We do not wish to live in the Federal Republic of Nigeria as slaves but desire to co-exist with other regions if Alaigbo (and her willing neighbors) are recognized as AUTONOMOUS REGION, with the right to full control of our territory, our resources, our Executive, legislative, Diplomatic and Administrative institutions, as well as our judiciary, economic and social resources. etc.

iii. Consequently, we are compelled to call for a plebiscite to secure our God-given Homeland, propelled by our collective will to self-determination, to embrace a sustainable future of peace, Security and development for Ourselves and our Children yet unborn.

iiii. Wherein we urge all Pan-Igbo Organizations, including the Alaigbo Development Foundation (ADF), Association of South-East Town Unions (ASETU), World Igbo Congress (WIC). concerned Christian Clergy and Representative Organizations, particularly the Christian Association of Nigeria South-East (CAN-SE), from our contiguous Neighbors including the Coalition of all Pro-Biafra Groups, and the vindictively proscribed non-violent Organization, IPOB, to collectively work in political synergy for our collective aspiration for self-determination, to ensure our survival and lead the pursuit of the realization of our collective security, destiny and development as a free, prosperous peace loving People bound together by the principles of Self-determination and freedom

v. We call for a formal coalition of people-based organizations – ADF, ASETU, CAN-SE, WIC, Traditional Rulers Councils, Prof-Biafra Groups (IPOB in particular),Trade Union organizations, Human Research Organizations, Media organizations, Women organizations, Youth and Students Organizations, other religious groups, ex-Service men, to remain together and continue working for the benefit of our people,

vi. We urge for unity of purpose and regular consultations and collaboration between these bodies and the Governments of our region including the socio-cultural organization in Alaigbo, the Ohanaeze Ndigbo

vii. We finally urge the Governors and States House of Assembly to take immediate steps to pass the Anti-Open Grazing Law for the control of the movement of Cattle and other animals in order to protect our farmers and avert the imminent starvation knocking at our doors as farmers are afraid to go to their farms because of the incessant brutal attacks and killings as well as rape of their women and daughters by the Fulani terrorist Herdsmen.

viii. The Governors of the South-Eat should be reminded that they do not need the approval of the President to ban the movement of cattle by foot in the South-East. Even in the absence of Anti-Open Grazing Law, the people and government of Alaigbo can draw their authority to ban the free movement of cattle in the region either from the traditional Igbo customary law or the 2nd Schedule (Concurrent List) of the existing Constitution, particularly items 18 and 20, and the Fourth Schedule (Functions of LGC) items 1 and 2,

ix. We call on the State Governments and the various Communities to ensure that Community vigilantes are effectively in place, All patriotic citizens should support the Government and the vigilantes with adequate funds and protective gargets.

x. We call on our youths and all Pan-Igbo and Pro-Biafra organizations to mobilize their members to enforce security in their various communities.

xi. We urge our women to remember that they were responsible for hastening the demise of colonial rule whose citadel they assaulted in 1929, the first such incident in the history of global colonialism,

xii. We urge the authorities of the Federal Government of Nigeria to lift the siege on our territory by withdrawing all the invading forces and dismantling all extortionist checkpoints

xiii. Finally, we urge all Governors in Alaigbo, Senators, Hose of Reps, and Speakers of the House of Assembly to please consider matters in this communique as expedient and dealt with urgently.
xiiii. Whereupon we call on Almighty God to strengthen our Resolve on this day being Thursday 22nd August 2019 at Owerri. Imo State, Nigeria
